Toples. Our bodies are imperfect.

Everything below are my thoughts inspired by this video.

Our bodies are not perfect. Our joints, eyes, teeth, nerves, genetics, brain, everything was developed not with longterm plan in someone's mind, but as random minor changes. The only goal of these changes is to be more adapted to the ever changing environment.

It leads me to the following conclusions:

  1. We should not care about our bodies more than it is really needed.
  2. It is a great audacity to consider ourselves the end product of evolution and some perfect kind of an animal. We are just the next tiny step. Our times shall pass.
  3. This one is surely controversial. May be we should not be that much upset because of fixable injuries. Sure it's painful and unpleasant. But we should not see it as ruining of something perfect. Quite otherwise - sometimes artificial replacement can be more ergonomic than our original parts.
  4. Scientific research aimed to overcome our physical limits to live longer and healthier should be among our top priorities. If we know that nature is not doing it perfect then we should try to make it better.
  5. There is nothing wrong in genetic engineering. Why are considering it to be more ethical to let nature hold monopoly for this process?
  6. If someone (including me) makes a big net worth or passive income it would be great to compliment scientific research in this sphere with money or personal activity.
  7. Everything mentioned above also is related to our brain, our systems of habits and rewards, reflexes, memory, information perception and storing.
